Ejecta Projects presents
Brenda Kahn's One Woman Show: How We Got Here
(Motherhood, Climate Change, Politics, and a walk through the East Village scene in the nineties)

On Saturday, April 13, 2019 enter the enchanting world of major label recording artist, singer/songwriter, guitarist, poet and storyteller Brenda Kahn for a one-woman show of songs, stories, and poems at Ejecta Projects Art Gallery in Carlise, PA.  Doors open at 7:30.

The show will take the audience on a journey back to the early nineties through the present day. Concert-goers will follow the artist’s journey through time and space touching on themes of our relationships, our environment, our political climate and bridging the gap between womanhood and motherhood. Kahn’s stories of the road bring the characters from her songs to life including the “white trash chick at the Donut Shop”, her personal history with musician Jeff Buckley, and talking backstage with 60s icon Bob Dylan.

Brenda Kahn comes to Ejecta Projects with a new book of poetry Ode to Chores: the Good, the Bad and the Laundry released January 2019 by South Salem Press. The book is dedicated to moms who would like to think beyond the next pile of dishes and rediscover what it is to be a woman beyond a mother.

One Amazon reviewer put it this way:
“Wisdom to guide your best and worst days! Brenda eloquently captures those powerful moments in motherhood where the mundane collides with the existential. She reminds us that there is essential, meaningful work amidst all the chaos. Thank you!”
-Beth F.

Brenda Kahn’s combination of Indie Rock energy (think Violent Femmes) mixed with Bob Dylanesque lyrical finesse has been a driving influence in women’s music since her debut in the early nineties. Her lyrics reveal the truth and beauty beneath everyday life and have drawn fans and audiences across the US and Europe. See more about her discography and press clippings at www.brendakahn.com

“I’m extremely excited to be back on the road and meeting audiences who share my vision for uniting people through art and music.” said Brenda Kahn, “Writing this book [Ode to Chores] has resonated with so many people, I’m grateful to add a unique voice to the conversation about motherhood and feminism.”
